Lafayette Road Construction Project Update

Newport Construction Corp. has provided the following work schedule:

Full‑depth road excavation will begin Wednesday, 7/22/26, with asphalt milling scheduled for Wednesday 7/22, Thursday 7/23, and Friday 7/24.

Work will resume where we left off last season—just south of the elementary school at Allen Drive and continue north for 1,600 ft toward the Mattress Firm driveway.

Traffic Impact:

• Single‑lane alternating traffic from 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (may extend into mid‑afternoon).

• After hours, the road will reopen to two‑lane traffic, but the surface will be gravel in this section.

Next Phase:

Beginning Monday, 7/27, excavation and installation of the new roadbed will take place.

Paving: Expected the week of 8/3–8/7.
