Driftway Roadway Improvements Project
Sealed proposals for the Driftway Roadway Improvements Project will be received at the Town of Salisbury, Planning and Development 5 Beach Road, Salisbury, MA 01952, until 2:00 pm on September 2, 2020 at which time and place will be publicly opened and read aloud:
Sealed proposals sent through the mail shall be mailed to: Department of Planning and Development, 5 Beach Road, Salisbury, MA. 01952. Proposals sent through the mail shall be marked “ Driftway Roadway Improvements Project – Bid Proposal”.
In general, the work of this project includes 560 LF of complete streets roadway modifications to improve pedestrian conditions and parking on Driftway in Salisbury, MA. Roadway improvements include new curb and sidewalks along both sides of driftway, pavement mill & overlay, drainage modifications, a rain garden, minor landscaping, pavement markings, signing, and other incidental items. Bike racks, park benches, parking kiosk relocations are also proposed along the corridor. Notice to proceed for this project is anticipated on or about September 18, 2020.
The bidding for and award of the contract for this project are to be in accordance with the requirements of Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 30 § 39M. Bidders are on notice that this project is funded through the MassDOT Complete Streets program. This project is subject to the payment of state prevailing wage rates.
MassDOT pre-qualification is required for this project. All bidders must be MassDOT pre-qualified in order to take out “Official” bid documents. Contractors seeking “Informational Only” bid documents are not required to be MassDOT pre-qualified.
The Proposal Guaranty shall be in the form of either cash, bid bond, certified check, bank treasurer’s check, or bank cashier’s check, made payable to the Town of Salisbury in the amount of 5% of the value of the Base Bid.
A performance bond in the amount of 100 percent of the contract price and a payment bond in the amount of 50 percent of the contract price, will be required in the form described in the Information for Bidders.
Bid documents can be acquired via download free of charge at www.salisburyma.gov,starting on August 5, 2020. Contract Documents will be also be available for viewing at the Salisbury Department of Public Works, 39 Lafayette Road, Salisbury MA, 01952.
A non-mandatory prebid walkthrough will be held on-site on August 19th at 10:00 AM.
The Owner may waive any informality or reject any and all bids.
