The Town would like residents to be aware that the State has several programs designed to assist eligible households with paying a portion of their winter energy and heating bills.  Mass. residents who earn 60% or less of the State median income are eligible for assistance in paying for fuel, electricity and weatherization upgrades.  Individuals with income of $42,411 or less are eligible, while the maximum income level for a family of four is $81,561, according to the State’s Office of Housing and Community Development.  Last year, more than 134,000 households received assistance through these programs, although several thousand more were eligible, but did not apply.
