Historical Commission
Mission Statement
In accordance with Massachusetts General Laws Ch. 40, Sec. 8D, the Salisbury Historical Commission shall identify, protect, and preserve the historical heritage and resources of the Town of Salisbury. To accomplish this mission, the commission shall provide but not be limited to, the following:
- Research, compile, and maintain an inventory of the Town's historic assets.
- Encourage community awareness and interest in Salisbury's historical heritage and maintain a presence on the internet in conjunction with the Town's website in order to promote preservation of those assets.
- Act as a historical resource in cooperation with the other Town boards and committees as needed.
- Advise the Town of Salisbury in all matters pertaining to the proposed destruction or relocation of historical assets.
