Town Needs Quorum for Annual Town Meeting-June 22nd

The Annual Town Meeting will be held at Salisbury Elementary School, 100 Lafayette Road, at 7:30 PM on Monday, June 22.  This meeting will be preceded by a Special Town Meeting which will begin at 7:00 PM.  These meetings were postponed from their original date of May 18 by the Board of Selectmen out of an abundance of caution, due to the current public health crisis.

In order to insure everyone’s safety at Town Meeting, the Town will undertake all appropriate sanitation measures so that State protocols regarding protection against the spread of the Coronavirus will be followed.  Chairs will be sanitized and spaced at least six feet apart (couples and family members will be allowed to sit closer together) and all attendees should plan to bring a face mask to wear at the meetings.  The Town will supply face masks for those who need them.  Microphones will be wiped down after each use, public restrooms will be cleaned frequently, and hand sanitizer will be available for everyone.

The Town needs a quorum of 125 registered voters to attend the meeting and vote on the warrant articles (posted below). Since there is not an option for remote participation/voting, we are encouraging those planning to attend to pre-register at a private town email townmeeting@salisburyma.gov  with your name and contact information  so that we can track our quorum (attendees will still need to check in at the voter table the night of the meeting).
