The second quarterly report for 2019 from the Town’s electricity aggregation program (known as the Salisbury Community Choice Program) is in, and the total savings for all electricity customers participating in the program equals just over $258,000.  Of this amount, residential customers saved almost $196,000 on their electricity bills, compared to National Grid’s Basic Service Rate for supply.  To view the complete report, please CLICK HERE.

The Town of Salisbury has locked in a rate of 11.065¢ per kilowatt hour for three years for all Salisbury electricity customers. During this past winter, National Grid’s Basic Service rate for residential use was 13.718¢/kWh and for the coming winter it will be 13.982¢/kWh.

The town, with the assistance of Colonial Power Group, Inc., entered into an agreement with First Point Power of Warwick, R.I. to bring energy cost-savings from green wind energy to Salisbury residents starting back in January of 2019. Residents will not notice any change in their electricity service. The only discernible difference will be that First Point Power will be printed under “Supplier Services” on National Grid’s monthly bills.

Colonial Power Group is the leading aggregation consulting firm in Massachusetts, saving households and businesses across New England a total of over $11 million on their electric bills. Colonial Power Group, which serves more than 60 municipalities in Massachusetts, was chosen to design, implement, and administer the program on behalf of Salisbury.
