Blackwater River Flood Control Planting

flower

The Town of Salisbury will be re-planting areas of the salt marsh around the Blackwater River floodwall that was constructed by the Army Corps of Engineers several years ago. This was part of a project between the Town and the Army Corp in order to have a floodwall built to project several Salisbury homes in the area. The Army Corp did the first round of plantings but a few areas now require a re-planting which the Town agreed to monitor and plant as needed in the original agreement. The Town’s environmental monitor for the project, Rimmer Environmental, has hired a company to do the re-plantings, which are starting today.

Attached are a few pictures showing the areas where the re-planting will happen.
