Parks and Recreation Commission History:
The Parks & Recreation Commission was established and approved by the Town at a Special Town Meeting held on May 18, 1998. The Parks and Recreation Commission replaced the "Youth Commission" and the "Summer Program Committee." It is made up of 5 members with appointed terms lasting 3 years.
Our Role in the Community:
Salisbury Parks and Recreation Commission is a commission of volunteers dedicated to putting on recreation activities for Salisbury's residents and maintaining the upkeep of town facilities. Our facilities include the Coastal Trail Coalition’s rail trails, the town common, the skate park, the beach fields, Lions Park, and the fields behind the old Memorial School. Our recreation activities include a fall festival, an Easter egg hunt, and a 10k race on the rail trail.
The Salisbury Parks and Recreation Commission is committed to providing recreational activities for citizens of all ages and maintaining clean and safe park facilities.
