Mission

The Committee is charged to evaluate the economic and practical feasibility of constructing and operating renewable energy sources on town property, primarily to offset municipal energy costs and generate additional revenue for the community.

Goals and Objectives

  • Work towards establishment of clean renewable energy in Salisbury.

  • Become educated about the costs and benefits of various technologies focusing on solar and wind service providers.

  • Recognize the variety of secondary opportunities that result from renewable energy (i.e., science, technology, green trades, and educational programs.)

  • Educate the public about the benefits of renewable energy.

Energy Saving Tip of the Month:

  1. Use outdoor lights with a photocell unit or a motion sensor so they will only turn on when someone is present. If you already have one in place, reduce the time that the light stays on by one minute. A combined photocell and motion sensor will increase your energy savings even more.
  2. Combine errands into one trip. Several short trips, each one taken from a cold start, can use twice as much fuel as one trip covering the same distance when the engine is warm.
